My Creative Space...

New fabric, new inspiration!

I'm hopeless when I find some new fabric to buy and it's like it burns a hole in my "stash" and I need to sew with it straight away...

So a new cushion and tote bag it is, started last night and finished off this morning, I'm calling this French chic meets Retro.

Birthday Catch ups...

This weekend, we had a lovely family get together with my husbands side of the family and it has been quite some time since we have done this for the simple fact that we are scattered all over Victoria. This also meant time to do the birthday catch up, you know remembering who you've not seen in the last few months and making up for the lack of pressie till now... so one was our neice who turned four, she got the green/pink button tote with a book inside and the other one was my sister in law, so a chocolate brown wool scarf it was. Might think about adding these to my Made it store although sewing all those buttons on did my head in! I have to admit that I struggled to think of something for my gorgeous 77 year old father in law and we all got together and put in for a BBQ! Sometimes, ya just got to go and buy stuff!!! My Creative Space...

Yep, it's another coin purse, my daughter wants to get her hands on this one, I think my favorite so far too!
Of course continuing with my owl obsession and all things that "HOOT"...

It's all about the small stuff....

I seem to be in this weird mood where I need instant gratification, no not the kind you're thinking of, the crafting kind! I have all these rather large idea's swimming in my head and even set out all over the floor but instead of making a start on them, I keep doing all these little things that take me about the time it would take me to make dinner if I wasn't too busy making little bits... Must be a full moon but I feel very restless sewing wise, torn between the imediate high of a quickie and the possible dividends of completing an elaborate peice that maybe I could sell to pay for all the fabric I am collecting! Am I the only one?

Bit & Bobs...

I am starting to get a little collection together for items that we can sell at our craft fete in October this year as I am co-ordinating the stall for the first time. I'm starting with some samples of things and then will work from there. Here's a photo of what I am working on so far, door stops, key tags, pot holders, pin cusions ....

Good Lord, I'll be lucky to fill a card table with this lot!

Wow, I've done it...

Well you could have blown me over with a feather!!! It's only Monday and I have finished my "Creative Space Project" Not very original or exciting but on my to do list for years! This is my little mate's bedroom who is now actually 8 years old and probably past the cute bunting stage but am almost done with his room now in time for him to be needing something a bit more sophisticated. I did use a nice grey felt mixed in with the fabrics to try and make it a bit more grown up. Ah well, off the list even if it is a tad late but it also got me going to make him the "Owl" cushion on his bed which has been in my head for some time now. Two jobs in one day, I'm on a ROLL!!! (Except for the fact that it's 5pm at night and there's still breakfast dishes and nothing in the house for dinner)
